The World Economic Forum's 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions took place in Tianjin, China, from 27-29 June. Global leaders came together for discussions on the theme "Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global Economy".

Over the past three days, more than 1,500 global leaders from business, government and civil society have gathered in Tianjin, China, at a crucial time for the global economic recovery.
The theme this year was "Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global economy", with participants discussing how to navigate global challenges and accelerate progress on common goals.
They touched on the importance of "philanthropy" - in China´s regime? - and greater communication to avoid working in siloes, as well as the need for clear green standards and more education on climate change and sustainability.

Today the WEF is just an embarrassment for Switzerland. Many representatives of this organization and the visitors of the WEF too belong to a questionable establishment.
A peak of shame was that in 2021 the dictator Xi Jinping gave the opening speech. The Russians will be excluded this year. It is to be hoped that at least Russian critics of Putin will be present, because a dialogue with them would be very necessary.
Goals of the meeting 2023
„The World Economic Forum is convening its 53rd Annual Meeting in January to reaffirm the value and imperative of dialogue and public-private cooperation, not only to navigate the current cascading crises but, more importantly, to drive tangible, system-positive change for the long term.”
“Therefore, finding ways to reinstitute a collective sense of agency and to turn defensive measures into proactive, vision-driven policies and business strategies will be at the heart of the meeting. The magnitude of current crises and the potential of future ones demands no less.”

“Policies and business strategies” is usually lobbyism.
On the contrary, politics and business should be separated, analogous to the separation of powers. This should be combined with a ban on lobbying.
Forum of the establishment
Thirty years ago, the WEF was a top-class event. In Switzerland we were proud to hold it. It was attended by many members of the true elite. At the time they were in management positions. This was not Klaus Schwab's merit.
Now, the WEF shoud stay in China. As a Swiss woman, I find it very embarrassing that WEF offers in Davos a platform for a questionable establishment.
Establishment is originally a term from the 1968 movement. At that time, it was meant by the majority bourgeois governments and the bourgeoisie in general. oday, the word means the opposite, and the protest against the establishment comes from the middle class.
Trumps speech on the establishment in 2016:

The highly dangerous TISA and TTIP agreements have been stopped by President Trump, as he announced in his speech. This was one of his first acts in office. These agreements, especially TISA, would have considerably increased the power of corporations over states and peoples.
WEF is only a part of this global establishment. Read more:

Of course, most of the Young Global Leaders also belong to the establishment. However, this cannot be assumed for everyone, as happens again and again. Certainly there are some who also attend to inform themselves and afterwards make their own decisions, including some that the establishment doesn't like.

The organisation has 1,400 members and alumni of 120 nationalities includes civic and business innovators, entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, educators, activists, artists, journalists, and more.
Goals: ”Aligned with the World Economic Forum’s mission, we seek to drive public-private co-operation in the global public interest. We are united by the belief that today’s pressing problems present an opportunity to build a better future across sectors and boundaries.”
“The Forum of Young Global Leaders accelerates the impact of a diverse community of responsible leaders across borders and sectors to shape a more inclusive and sustainable future.”
Climate hypocrite
The WEF propagates: We must move downstream.
“The race to reach the global 1.5-degree Celsius threshold is under way, but the real test is our ability to cut 'scope 3' emissions. According to the United Nations, the world's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are still set to be 10% higher in 2030 compared to 2010. Consequently, it becomes imperative that businesses look beyond their emissions and focus on the complete range of their value chains instead.”

The Dutch consulting company CEDelft made a report. It analyses private flights associated with the WEF 2022, which was held from 22 May, 2022 until 26 May, 2022. It estimates the number of flights, their fuel use and CO2 emissions during the event: “In 2022, WEF took place from 22 May, 2022 to 26 May, 2022 During that week (21 May- 27 May, 2022), 1,040 private flights arrived at or departed from the selected airports. In the weeks before and after this period, on average 540 flights arrived at or departed from the same airports. Therefore, we attribute 500 flights to the WEF, which is 48% of all private flights during this week.”
“The emissions of flights to and from the selected airports in the WEF week of 2022 amounted to 9.7 kilotonnes CO2. 35,000 average cars driving from Paris to Davos (around 750 kilometres), and back would emit approximately the same amount of CO2.2 Since the average emissions during the other weeks amounted to 2.3 kilotonnes, 7.4 kilotonnes CO2 can be attributed to private flights to the WEF.”

The great reset
“To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a “Great Reset” of capitalism”, so Klaus Schwab.
The Great Reset agenda would have three main components. The first would steer the market toward fairer outcomes. To this end, governments should improve coordination (for example, in tax, regulatory, and fiscal policy), upgrade trade arrangements, and create the conditions for a “stakeholder economy.” At a time of diminishing tax bases and soaring public debt, governments have a powerful incentive to pursue such action.
Young people might be able to sell ideas like “stakeholder capitalism” as new. In truth, such ideas were formulated decades ago and more qualified. for example from the Deutsche Management Gesellschaft. They have been used successfully by middle-class companies.

Appeal to the opposition: misinformation only hurts!
Criticism is only effective if you stick to the facts!
There is a lot of speculation, misinformation about the WEF. For example, it is claimed that certain individuals are members of the young global leaders - but they are not on the membership list. Such misinformation harms the bourgeois opposition, so the opponents can easily claim that one is dubious.
